Opening this Saturday 3pm -5pm Nicholas Jones  Mining the Archive  October 29th - November 22nd  Nicholas Jones invites you to celebrate his first solo show at: John Buckley Gallery  wwww Nicholas Jones invites you to Mining the Archive, an exhibition that brings together new and exciting work in his first solo show with John Buckley Gallery.  Nicholas will present the works in a Q&A from 2:30pm Saturday 8th November "Nicholas carves us forward through the linear textual narrative. The creation of his islands and figurative elements is a negative casting of form where the reveal brings us forward to the progressive outcomes of the stories rather than backwards to their beginnings. This inversion drives a tension in the work that keeps it alive beyond its striking aesthetic appeal." Welcome to the Building Limedrop!

It is always exciting to experience the organic changes in The Nicholas Building. The latest addition to The Cathedral Arcade shops is Limedrop. They have created a beautiful space and in the process uncovered some original features like the Deco metal balustrade on the mezzanine.  Scroll down past the images for a bit of a question and answer about the Limedrop label and their new flagship store.

1. Tell us a bit about

Limedrop, the history and the product that you stock.

Limedrop is a contemporary womenswear brand that is inspired by the idea that anything is possible! The positive brand ideals can be seen in our use of colour, unique materials, sustainable woods, luxurious fabrics and attention to detail. We design all our own textile prints, develop the garment silhouettes, make a range of soft lingerie and have three ranges of accessories: cherrywood jewellery, rosewood/ resin jewellery and rainbow funglasses.

Limedrop was launched in 2006 and has stocked some of the world's best boutiques around Australia, Japan and Dubai, set up 5 pop-up shops in Melbourne and one in Sydney, been on International showcases around the globe, as well as numerous runways and projects! What a journey... And now we are so excited to have our first Limedrop flagship store in the Nicholas Building in the heart of Melbourne's boutique laneway shopping district!

In the shop we are stocking our current season Limedrop fashions, lingerie and jewellery. We also have Melbourne designed, Radical Yes shoe and OK OK tights.


2. What is your inspiration for the shop?

The shop is inspired by mixing modern elements with the original mid-1920s architecture. The Limedrop boutique is a welcoming oasis in the CBD housed in the creative, iconic Nicholas Building- home to Melbourne's best creatives from jewellers, artists, milners and fashion designer.  We have worked with Moth Design to retain it's beauty such as the 6m high ceilings, deco balustrade, curved concrete beams and original brass door hinges. Our modern elements are the geometric racks and vertical garden that span the full height of the space.

Throughout time and across cultures, folk have made use of an endless repository of enigmatic edibles, administering and worshiping them with the belief that they may house magical and medicinal properties. They have been used to heal, protect and alter our physical and mental states.

Whether flora or fauna, garnered from land or sea, some ingredients take on such divine eminence that the question could be asked, are they food of the gods, or are they gods in themselves?

Lisa Charleson is a Holistic Kinesiologist, Bowen Therapist, Teacher, Workshop facilitator and owner of Holistic Approach Kinesiology and Bowen Therapy.

Lisa holds a Diploma of Health Sciences Kinesiology from the Australian College of Complementary Medicine, Melbourne. She has been practicing since 2009 and is a member of the Australian Institute of Kiensiology.

Lisa also has a Certificate IV of Bowen Therapy from the Border College of Natural Therapies, Woodonga. She studied under Chris Reed in Geelong, who is the president of the Bowen Association of Australia, of which Lisa is a member.
