Jennifer Martin 'Snowstorm'
Jennifer Martin is showing a selection of new work at one of Melbourne's leading Contemporary Jewellery Galleries e.g.etal.
Snowstorm by Jennifer Martin
An installation of new work by jeweller and story teller Jennifer Martin is now on display at Flinders Lane. Jen has used her signature techniques of repousse and chasing to emboss delicate imagery into silver. These pieces are combined with elements such as felt, feathers, pearls and diamonds to invoke the stunning imagery of a snow storm. Each piece is a one-off, beautiful in its own right, yet connected by the narrative thread woven between them.
It is a wild and woolly night
The Intrepid ventures into the snowstorm
Ever onward in search of the truth
Into the eye of the storm
To the floating kingdom of the snow crystals
To discover snowflakes of diamond, pearl, sapphire, felt, feather, gold and silver
Each one a unique individual
Never replicated
Such is the wondrous nature of the snowflake!
